CHILD SPONSORSHIP SCHEME
Our world famous child sponsorship scheme assisting Burmese boys has commenced. Already we have sponsors. At present of all of our various works, our boys home in Yangon (Ray of Light Home) requires our greatest attention. Currently we have a monthly deficit of NZ$640.
We have some real cutey young guys that you can sponsor. This means that you really can play a role in charging a young persons life! For $30/month we will give you two young guys whose lives you can track and have some part in shaping.
These young fellas are a poor wee rag tag bunch. I visited them recently at their second floor apartment. You could hear them out on the street! It was only when I was inside that I realised that they were all rote reciting to their tutor lessons that they had learnt at school that day.
Education costs are a major part of our expenses because normal daily teaching at school will be insufficient for the guys to successfully graduate high school. Right now the average age of the boys is pretty young (around 13 years) because recently a whole lot of our older guys have moved off into tertiary study, the workforce and even into community work amongst the desperately poor.
They are quite cute wee guys who are grateful for their opportunity to excel. One such boy was Zaw Zaw…
Zaw Zaw was born into a Burman Buddhist family in 1985. His father died when he was just 5 months old and his mum died when he was 5 years old. He was sent to a Buddhist monastery where he was only allowed to study up to grade 4. Following that he had to go live with his handicapped brother. He was so poor that he could no longer study. So we took him in. Zaw Zaw now has a theological degree and spends his time assisting the poor within his community. He was one of our original child sponsor kids.
Would like to long term sponsor a couple of boys? Then just email us at empowerasia@gmail.com and let us know. We will send account details and info on your two boys.
TESTIMONY: Recently one of our supporters, a property-developer businessman from New Zealand, came to observe our work first-hand. These were his impressions:
We would love it if you could financially support us.
We need your support.
Right now we desperately require more funding to grow our projects on. Our success necessitates us requesting more funding. We have more kids wanting to live with us and we have a queue of young people soon to be entering the comparatively expensive field of tertiary education.

We ask for funds only when we truly require them.
Please notify us when you have deposited funds into our accounts so that we can maintain accurate accounting procedures – also so that we can personally thank you. Simply notify us by emailing us at empowerasia@gmail.com
